Girona Airport is the preferred airport for the Costa Brava holiday resorts and is within easy reach of Girona, the Pyrenees and Barcelona city centre (110km). The airport may be referred to under different names but the most popular seem to be Barcelona Girona Airport or Girona Costa Brava. To be more specific the airport is about 12km from La Selva and within easy distance of both Vilobi D’Onyar and Aiguaviva.

The airport handles around 2.4 million passengers a year making it quite a popular and well used Spanish airport and has a number of standard and low cost Girona airport flights to choose from.

Location

The Airport is located on the main AP 7 motorway (exit number 8) the N-II and the C-25 meaning you have easy access to and from the airport terminal via the long approach road that all of the above roads lead to for airport access.

Terminal Building

There is just a single terminal building at Girona airport with the ticket sales desks and checking in area located on the ground floor. The first floor is the passenger only section housing the airport lounge, shops and a selection of restaurants.

Passengers arriving at the airport will arrive on the ground floor where the baggage reclaim halls are also located. Most EU passengers will need hall 1 baggage reclaim and non-EU passengers will be directed to hall 2.
