There is more good news for Spanish airports, more specifically for Malaga Costa del Sol Airport, with the announcement that another route will be added between Malaga and France.
Air Nostrum is the franchise airline for the flag carrier airline of Spain, Iberia. It handles the regional flights for the company and will be linking Nice in France with Malaga Airport this summer. This operation will also encompass four other Spanish destinations: Ibiza, Mallorca, Valencia, and Madrid, where it maintains this connection all year round.
The company has provided details that the primary airport of the French Riviera, namely Nice, will be connected to the Costa del Sol via Malaga Airport three times a week, specifically with flights on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, starting from 10th June until 17th July. However, when there is expected to be far greater demand during the peak summer season, the frequency of flights being operated by Air Nostrum is planned to be increased to daily flights from 21st July to 3rd September.
“In comparison to 2022, the commencement of flights is being advanced by one month and there will be a 33% increase in the number of available seats,” stated the airline.
Currently during 2023 Malaga Airport is seeing a huge increase in passenger numbers coming though the airport from the different connections it has and with the new routes being added for the summer via a number of different airlines, it is anticipated that it could be one of the busiest years on record for both flights and passengers.
Air Nostrum links 59 destinations across eight countries in Europe and North Africa, utilizing a fleet of 47 modern aircraft. The company boasts a workforce of 1,500 employees.
